Delivering, collecting and closing the day
Delivery staff settle each order in cash, credit or cheque on one screen. At the end of the day the accounts summary, van stock and review close the day.
Once orders are booked they are delivered from distributor stock. Targets treats delivery, collection and the day's close as one flow so nothing is left open overnight.
Delivery
The delivery user sees the orders assigned to them, delivers, and settles each one: cash, credit or cheque, or a split. Stock moves from the van and the customer's balance updates at that moment.
Collection
Payments against outstanding balances are recorded with type, bank, cheque details and a photograph of the cheque or deposit slip. Payments reduce the customer's arrears through their wallet.
Closing the day
- Accounts summary: total sale, cash, credit and cheque, productive against non-productive visits, unique customers visited.
- Van inventory: what was loaded, what was sold, what is coming back.
- Review, with a photograph of the bank deposit slip.
The app is locked until the day is closed, so tomorrow always starts clean. Managers see who has closed and who has not.
More on Sales & distribution
Setting up geography and hierarchy
Regions, areas, territories and towns, and the managers and reps who own them. Access and reporting both follow this structure.
Adding products, price lists and discount levels
Products carry category, brand and pack size. Prices live in lists per company, distributor and group. Four discount levels apply automatically, then a manual discount on top.
Onboarding a distributor
Create the distributor, set opening stock, add their users and decide what they can see. Most distributors are live within a week of the company being set up.
