Running payroll and issuing payslips
Salary structures, tax slabs and payroll cycles produce a payslip for every employee. Attendance, unpaid leave and overtime flow in from the same system.
Payroll in Targets is fed by the rest of the system. Attendance, leave, overtime and, from 15 October, sales incentives all arrive in the payroll run without a spreadsheet in between.
Setup
- Salary components: basic, allowances, deductions and contributions.
- Salary structures assigned to grades or to individuals.
- Tax slabs for progressive income tax.
- Payroll cycles: monthly or as your company runs them.
The run
Earnings are basic salary plus allowances and overtime. Deductions are unpaid leave, attendance penalties where you apply them, provident fund and tax. Each employee receives a payslip as a PDF in the app and on the portal.
Incentives and commissions
Sales incentives and commissions are calculated from target achievement and paid as a line in payroll. Available from 15 October.
Claims
Expense and travel claims are submitted with proof, approved by the manager, and reimbursed through the same cycle, with rates by grade and city where you set them.

Creating a job, sharing its link and screening CVs
Type a title and Targets drafts the job and the interview. Every CV is scored against the job on a published rubric. Video interviews are recorded and graded.
